諸橋近代美術館「ダリとハルスマン」展 | Morohashi Museum of Modern Art: special exhibition “Dalí/Halsman”

The Morohashi Museum of Modern Art in Kitashiobara Village, Fukushima Prefecture boasts the world’s fourth-largest collection of works by Surrealist master Salvador Dali.

At the museum from April 20 – June 25, 2023 NAM’s visual artworks based on works by Salvador Dali and photographer Philippe Halsman were exhibited as part of a special exhibition “Dali/Halsman.”

In this exhibition, as an expression of Surrealism from a contemporary perspective, we presented visual artworks in the form of modern remakes of actual paintings by Dali and Halsman, including “Head on a Table,” “In Voluptas Mars” and “Dalí Atomicus.” These were also previously shown in Japanese art magazine Bijutsu Techo, No. 1043: Salvador Dali Special Issue. The NAM collective visual artwork piece “Fall Room” was also on display.

Each work was displayed as a large print, giving visitors the opportunity to compare and contrast them with actual works from Dali and Halsman. It is a great honor for NAM to be exhibited in the same space as these legendary artists.

シュルレアリスムの巨匠サルバドール・ダリの作品において、世界第4位の所蔵数を誇る福島県北塩原村にある諸橋近代美術館。

同館にて 2023年4月20日(木)～6月25日(日)に開催のサルバドール・ダリと写真家フィリップ・ハルスマンのよって制作された写真作品を中心とした展覧会「ダリとハルスマン」の関連企画としてNAMの作品が展示されました。偉大な作品群と同空間に展示される事は私たちにとって大変光栄です。

こちらの企画展示では現代の視点でのシュルレアリズムの表現として、以前に美術手帖／No.1043：特集サルバドール・ダリ号で製作した、ダリとハルスマンの実際の作品（“Head on Table”、“In Voluptate Mors”、“Dari Atomicus”）を現代の視点でリメイクしたビジュアル作品、および“Fall Room”が展示されました。

各作品は大きなプリントで展示されており、実際のダリとハルスマン作品と見比べながら鑑賞する機会となっています。
